DIY Creepy/Zombie Halloween Dolls

The number ONE holiday I spend more time, money, sanity, and energy on...Halloween. Recently got my hands on some of my old childhood dolls....and immediately thought, "These are way to creepy to throw away."

Interestingly...I called her Joy when I was little.

I used Craft Smart Crackle Medium with Chalky Acrylic Paint in Silver Gray for the base color and White for the top color.
Before

Before

First, I painted the dolls with the gray paint and let it dry overnight.

Then, I painted them with the crackle medium and let that dry overnight.

Then apply the top coat color. Be careful to try and paint in one swipe because if you attempt to go over the paint with your brush again it can clump it and cause it to "crackle" in a not so attractive way. Follow the directions on the crackle medium bottle and it should turn out fine.

After

"Joy" after (I painted her eyes with regular black paint)

Added a rat and an eyeball and...voilà...creepy dead baby on the doorstep.
