Looking back at Halloween past!

This year we have baby #2 due on Oct. 9th. Our second October baby. As a crazy Halloween lover...I have to get better at planning these babies. So...as a result there will be no big party or elaborate costumes. In fact, our 3 year old daughter was allowed the responsibility of picking our families costumes this year. I'm very impressed.

"Finky" is the nickname that Viv has given Baby #2.
Oinky is her best friend/stuffed animal.
The apple costume is the only one that really threw me.

Halloween Costume Planning Came to Fruition!

So, since there will be no major Halloween festivities this year...I am forced to just reminisce on Halloweens past.

Ikea hack: Spice rack bookshelves

Finally got around to completing the bookshelves for Viv's playroom. Not a lot of space in there, so any wall space is precious. These are IKEA BEKVÄM Spice Racks.

There are lots of posts all over Pinterest about how to use these as bookshelves.  I didn't want to paint mine one color...I wanted them to be whimsical so I used patterned washi tape from Micheals. The ones I used are from their Recollections line: Yellow FloralModern FloralModern Aqua, and Pink Damask. After applying the washi tape I used a layer of Mod Podge to seal it.

These really are great space savers...I wouldn't be able to put anything useful on the wall going into the room so these worked great.

They work well for little hands at a little person height.
